Lucid Dreaming or Unclear Waking?

As many have probably realized this already, "Lucid Dreaming" is now a term with it's own popular acronym, "LD." Lucid dreaming is not quite what some people think it is. As many of us have already found out, LD-ing is simply taking control of your dreams. This may or may not mean that eventually, as LD becomes accepted by the scientific community, the practice will be used for simply living twice as long. That's right, twice as long. Just kidding. Twice as long is not good enough. Well then, how about... forever. It is theoretically possible to live forever.

Relatively speaking, you can simply slow down time by exponentially decreasing the relative speed of time inside your dream. Thus, extending your life very close to forever.

How would we, engineers and scientists, would describe this to ourselves. How about we start at the fact that a human being is able to accelerate or slow down time, correct? Sometimes days last too long, nights too short? Some unforgettable moments seem to whither away in a blink of an eye, and disappear forever?

A dream is a mind trick. A mind trick that works solely to allow the body and mind to rest. It creates a random sequence of short life events (mini-dreams) that come and go, and sometimes seem to be so incomplete -- so lacking of something. Dreams are not isolated from our world. Dreams affect all of our daily life. We remember events that happen in dreams, and they affect our choices made in life, even if it done on a subconscious level.

Taking control of dreams means that you no longer are powerless and weak against the supreme force that seems to throw you around inside your own mind like a toy. It does what it wants -- it talks and you have no choice but to hear it all. A lucid dream is a method of breaking free of that force. A fully-controlled lucid dream has endless possibilities. A lucid dream, for example, can be used to improve yourself at various skills you are not capable learning in the wake life. It may eventually be overused, but it is a possibility that we may one day, with the aid of evolution, be able to "hack" our own central neural system. Why? In order to use it to extend our lives. An entire life can be lived inside your dream, totally private to you, and almost no one else from your wake life can be a part of it. Almost no one.

Evolution or just a hidden ability, it doesn't matter what you label it as. It is what it is, and it is very peculiar. Very worthy of being locked down in the insane asylum.

Go try it if you haven't. Google "lucid dreaming", or search Wikipedia for techniques of entering an LD. Most importantly, have fun!

Good luck.
