Fire! Drones and Firemen!

An explosion? Under my car's hood? Thats not good! I think I need to pull over! Oh great now there's smoke coming out...

I call my job and tell them I'll be late. After a total of 5 to 10 minutes, there's a suited up 4-man team staring under my car's hood, telling me what's wrong with it. One of the guys who's holding the fire extinguisher is kinda quiet though.

How did they get here so fast? I ask once, I ask twice and they totally ignore me. Well I guess they know that I know the answer.

It's the drones. Obama's domestic drone use plan is actually working! One thing surprised me though... I thought they were using them for survailance, to investigate hot spots when they get a tip... but no... they are actually hovering the drones mid air and analyze the live stream from each one to respond with an unprecedented speed! It's a clever strategy! Good use of drones, IMHO.

Curious Suicidal Immortal

What is it that makes me choose to live another day?
And what is it that keeps me from pulling the last straw and leave the pain and suffering behind?
After all, eternal peace will come for everyone one day, and there is no way to avoid it...
Well, unless I'd have the means to chat death indefinitely...
Then the pain would never end...
But in theory I could live until the end of the universe, but it would require incredible amount of effort.
And what good would it do to live forever and still contemplate ending my own life every passing day?
What would be the drive to motivate me to live day after day, for as long as my immortal state persists?
Would the goal of ending world hunger do?
Would keeping history true for thousands of years as a time keeper do?
Maybe leaving on a thousand-year journey across the galaxy to search for other life do?
Would it be a sin against humanity to not try to achieve artificial everlasting life?
What would be the most logical method of avoiding death forever?
Would preserving the central and the peripheral nervous system give me the illusion of never dying?
But would that still give me the right to call myself human?
Would religious fanatics try to hunt me down for misunderstanding the God's word?
And what if humanity evolves far beyond the current state, and as a million-year-old living organism I become an underevolved primitive being in their eyes?
Would that make me a little anxious and withdrawn at parties?
Would there be more like me who choose to live to see the end of the universe?
Would they be able to keep their sanity for so long?
And would I?

The Event Horizon

The world started collapsing onto itself sometime after I left her. I didn't want to leave, but I felt like I was left with no other choice. I promised to return, but we both knew that I wouldn't let it happen. Lying wasn't my intention -- I felt that it was the only way I could get her to stay away from me. She even made me promise that I would come back immediately if I start to miss her.

What I didn't realize was that leaving her would bring so much suffering. She has never let me go, if she did, then maybe things would have turned out differently. The effect was almost immediate, and the consequences were soon becoming grave. The world turned monochrome, and the periodic depression cycles had increased in frequency and magnitude.

I noticed the first major symptom after flunking an important college course. I failed to note the obvious foreshadowing and ignored the warning, which cost me a few more F'd courses, and then finally forced me to drop out. Well, I didn't really drop out... I was expelled. And when I thought things couldn't go anymore downhill, they went pretty much vertically downwards.

Modern astrophysicists claim that in our universe there exist countless super-massive and extremely dense objects called "black holes". Their unique characteristic is the presence of a vicinity boundary called an "event horizon". Whenever their powerful gravity pulls in any object beyond this boundary, its fate is sealed inside, and its escape is physically impossible. Even one of the most lightweight and fastest-moving particles known to man, photon (a.k.a. light), is incapable of escaping such enormous gravitational pull. What happens beyond the black hole's event horizon is likely not known even to the most advanced alien race in the universe, because there is no instrument can provide data for analysis out of nothing. What we do know with confidence is that the flow of time slows down to a crawl, and eventually stops to a halt when the objects reach the black hole's center, and even the possibility of it being reversed beyond that point.

So, my very own career event horizon has been breached, and there is absolutely no way for me to know what is going to happen. The whole thing seems to have turned into a mess of unpredictable inter-blending thoughts and impulsive actions. Will I be consumed by this darkness or can I still emerge victorious? Time will tell, but as we know, the very concept of time is a blob of uncertainty once we get past that point of no return.

The Ultimate Battle of One with Oneself

Status: No clue.

We're in a constant battle with ourselves every day due to the very nature of our body's half-independent design. One hand does not necessarily know what the other one does. We have two brain halves, and each of the brain halves receives and sends the signals independently. A man can survive with only one brain half. The right side: visual, artistic, random processing. The left side: lingual, logical, sequential processing.

The ecological human interface design of our heads up display may need to be designed to send appropriate data to the appropriate brain side. So, the left eye data may have to include artistic and visual info (to be extracted by right brain), while the right eye data will only carry data for logical info extraction.

The center processor then simply takes these two inputs and puts two and two together and makes decisions, which are sent from the main processor to each of the half to execute via muscle movements and physical actions.

From personal experience, the sequence of the development of my old 4WD robot project (see the projects page) followed a specific path. It was a logical path that took into account many visual and artistic approaches, which produced a clear picture of what the end product will be like from multiple perspectives. This enables us to make the best possible decision based on the experience acquired by each of the half of the brain. This is why it's pretty much useless providing artistic information to the left brain, if one wants to look for artistic approaches to the data observed by the right eye. Sending the same image data to the left eye, however, will produce the desired artistic/random calculations.

Every decision is made keeping in mind that Logic and Emotion account for Rational and Irrational decisions we make every day. You can say that one is in a constant battle with oneself. Split personalities often form in certain situations.

The important outcome of this finding is that efficiency can be improved dramatically if one is to properly use their brain halves. However, this is not the only reason why rational decisions often lead to predictable outcomes. The reason is that somewhere in the front section of my brain there's a section that is responsible for future prediction and extrapolation. Both front halves probably have this function, which look at my potential future from a logical and an emotional perspective. And this right-left brain battle is precisely the root cause of why it is often hard for us to make decisions.

Freaky

It's that same dream again!

For quite a while now Earth turned into a world overfilled with hate and wars, so some have decided to live with peace, build themselves small nuclear spaceships and off they went, into the heavens.

But,

For an unknown reason I'm still on Earth, running away with a group of people being led by another smaller group of people. They appear to be helping us out - some appear to be soldiers or outlaws and there's one older woman who seems to be a scientist.

The dream cuts in while I am in a theater I think, somewhere in a space port or something.

We run and we end up in some sort of chambers. The chambers transfer us to some sort of a space craft via some kind of tubes. When we exit these tubes, we are told to grab some weapons. There are four or five different strange hand-held weapons. There's a familiar modified ak-47-like one, and a few odd-looking ones. There's some pen-like weapon with unfolding handle that appears to be an electromagnetic gun of some-sort, probably a high-power short-pulse laser. We run somewhere next.

We pass out, possibly in preparation for a cryogenic sleep.

I don't remember what happened last time, but this time we arrive to some strange planet (K-B22?) where it appears that a human base was established a century or so ago, judging by the rust and the aged structures. There are rooms, and buildings, with overhead bridges between buildings. Flash backs keep happening and I remember some guy from either a previous dream, or something else, who went completely bananas and killed a person (or more than one person). There are dinosaur-like creatures that run around the base premises as well as inside the buildings. They are everywhere and the smaller ones are attacking us.

A whole lot more happened, but the memories appear as brief detail-less patches. It's hard to make much sense of why I'm having this wild and ultra-realistic dream multiple times. It almost feels like some plot from a video game or a movie (the closest resemblance is the combination of the 2009 movie "Pandorum" with "Terra Nova" and "Outcasts" TV series?).

brain.img

Unknown origin.

The specific configuration/image of her brain's neural network was highly attractive. It was interesting to sit there and learn that not everyone in this world is boring as hell. This woman was extraordinary without doubt, but how does one even begin to define what extraordinary really is for them personally?

Shortly after her departure from the palace, flashbacks started occurring and curiosity rapidly rising. How did she acquire all that knowledge, and how much of it is actually accessible and interpretable and translatable into words? How much of the content is actually physically deliverable to me from her through the air molecule vibrations via her vocal cords, and deliverable information is actually understandable by me? How much of the understandable is saveable by my brain, and how much of the saveable is accessible by me and for how long? How much of the retrievable is then re-interpretable by me, and how much of the re-interpretable is re-communicable by my own mouth? How much of the re-communicable is properly interpretable back to her original message, and how much of the interpretable is actually recognizable by her to be the original message? Once confirmed by her that the data have indeed successfully reached the destination (me, you, them), how does she decide what actions to perform next?

Too many questions are left unanswered. The answers are very likely to be simple, but are yet unknown.

Not So Fast

It's easier to forget than it is to remember.
What was a dream no longer resembled anything like that innocent fantasy of mine.
It burned down so quickly and so violently.
Why did we try to make beautiful things out of the leftover ashes?
Who builds a house just so they can destroy it?
I'll never understand.

Non-Religious

A man was born -- son of nature, son of universe. A regular human being. This human being was able to understand the meaning of life. He understood what living was all about, that everything and everyone in peace with each other would work out a lot better for everyone. Christians call him "Jesus". But to us, it is irrelevant what his name was. Jesus was a philosopher, doctor, scientist. People thought that he understood philosophy of life a lot more than anyone else. He was followed by thousands -- he was worshiped. Back then, the only explanation for this phenomena was an ancient scripture that prophesied a birth of man who would save the world. A man who would bring peace and salvation to all humanity. Jesus was then labeled to be "son of the God." He claimed to be son of the universe, who has been given a vision. Jesus tried to educate everyone about his logical philosophical views. But he was rejected when religious churches and cults started to tell everyone not to listen to him. People listened to the priests somehow, perhaps because it was more socially accepted to trust priests, and thus he was killed. He was a very smart man, with extraordinary powers. With his logic he was able to control his "spirit", which is analogous to software (vs hardware). He moved his soul to the next one by simply teaching his only main student of his ways. When Jesus died, his student took over and continued his master's teachings.

Lucid Dreaming or Unclear Waking?

As many have probably realized this already, "Lucid Dreaming" is now a term with it's own popular acronym, "LD." Lucid dreaming is not quite what some people think it is. As many of us have already found out, LD-ing is simply taking control of your dreams. This may or may not mean that eventually, as LD becomes accepted by the scientific community, the practice will be used for simply living twice as long. That's right, twice as long. Just kidding. Twice as long is not good enough. Well then, how about... forever. It is theoretically possible to live forever.

Relatively speaking, you can simply slow down time by exponentially decreasing the relative speed of time inside your dream. Thus, extending your life very close to forever.

How would we, engineers and scientists, would describe this to ourselves. How about we start at the fact that a human being is able to accelerate or slow down time, correct? Sometimes days last too long, nights too short? Some unforgettable moments seem to whither away in a blink of an eye, and disappear forever?

A dream is a mind trick. A mind trick that works solely to allow the body and mind to rest. It creates a random sequence of short life events (mini-dreams) that come and go, and sometimes seem to be so incomplete -- so lacking of something. Dreams are not isolated from our world. Dreams affect all of our daily life. We remember events that happen in dreams, and they affect our choices made in life, even if it done on a subconscious level.

Taking control of dreams means that you no longer are powerless and weak against the supreme force that seems to throw you around inside your own mind like a toy. It does what it wants -- it talks and you have no choice but to hear it all. A lucid dream is a method of breaking free of that force. A fully-controlled lucid dream has endless possibilities. A lucid dream, for example, can be used to improve yourself at various skills you are not capable learning in the wake life. It may eventually be overused, but it is a possibility that we may one day, with the aid of evolution, be able to "hack" our own central neural system. Why? In order to use it to extend our lives. An entire life can be lived inside your dream, totally private to you, and almost no one else from your wake life can be a part of it. Almost no one.

Evolution or just a hidden ability, it doesn't matter what you label it as. It is what it is, and it is very peculiar. Very worthy of being locked down in the insane asylum.

Go try it if you haven't. Google "lucid dreaming", or search Wikipedia for techniques of entering an LD. Most importantly, have fun!

Good luck.

Battle

No sense.

There is something horrible that is going on.

Me, my sister and my mother are inside the house, and we must flee to safety. We know death is inevitable, but our hopes are not lost. We take as much food and water as we can and run to the basement. It feels like the world is going to end.

Once in the basement, we wait. After some time passes, we start noticing that they have found us. The ground starts moving and the walls start cracking. Here they come. Approximately the size of a soccer ball, some strange bug-like creatures start crawling out of the walls and the ground. I grab what I can use as a weapon and attempt to defend us with all I got. It is now evident that we will not win. After a few minutes of bug squashing, the main figure appears.

It comes very close to me, as my mother and sister stand behind me watching in terror, it then pulls out a weapon of some sort, puts it to my forehead at point-blank range, and fires. As I fall, everything starts to fade out... everyone appear to be in slow motion... I hear my mother and sister scream... then everything goes dark.

After an unknown amount of time passes, I wake up in a hospital, and find out that my right side of the brain was significantly damaged. The doctors tell me that both my mother and sister are dead. But I already knew that. I remember everything. I walk out of the hospital with someone who I know, but not really sure who. And that is where it ends.

I still don't know what happened. This is the end of my dream, but the beginning and some details are lost.

Fly

No sense.

I jump off of a building, and as I approach the ground, I start to decelerate.

At first, I am able to fly freely however I want, at whatever height I like. Eventually, I start realizing that flying is impossible -- my logic kicks in. To be in a sleep mode, a human brain must disable the ability to think logically. At least, that is my theory. Once my logic kicks in, my realization of this fact slowly starts to affect my ability to fly.

I jump from a high ground once more. Now I hover perhaps 30 feet above the ground. It's more of a glide, than hover, though. After a while, I loose my ability to fly completely.

Now, there is a hole, or a big crack in the ground. It appears to be bottomless. There is only one way around it. I take the way, and start to slowly slip off into the hole until I am no longer able to hold on, and I fall. I am quickly consumed by the darkness. I am afraid, but do not fear of dying, for I know this is only a dream. I know how my death usually ends in my dreams. I respawn, I reboot, I come back to life, I am given another chance, like usual.

So, I am back on the path, once again trying to get across this big hole in the ground.

The rest is lost.

The path is clearly visible now. Walk it with confidence.

The knowledge is yours now:

It only takes one decision of only one person. A decision to make it happen. The solution to all problems of the world, has just one simple solution. One single person was given possession of an unlimited amount of power. You. No one else has it, but you. You possess the greatest power in the world. What some of us call "God" is so simple. The "God" is you. The God himself is within you. You are the temple of God. There is no one else, everyone is simply one single being, interconnected by the bonds. We are one incredible organism.

For the good and happiness of all. The knowledge is power. The only way to harness its unlimited energy is to use it properly.

Elevator, Girl, Woods and Herb.

No sense.

I go visit my sister for some conference in a gigantic hotel. Take an elevator that is on the side of the building and has no walls. I forget the floor number, but then remember after reaching top floor. It is one before the last. So from the top floor, I go one floor down and enter the building through something that's not even a door, but a square hole.

Once off the elevator I am inside some weird mechanical room. I exit the room and now inside a normal hotel hall. I walk around until reach something that looks like a flea market (inside the hotel). I'm just looking around the area. I pick up something that looks like a tiny knife-pliers, and put it down. A girl asks me to buy it, or just buy something. I tell her that I'm just looking.

Then, for some reason she (or is it another girl now..?) is in a bathtub naked, and it appears that everyone else has left somewhere. After some time passes, we walk down the hallway, just talking. I don't think I get her name, but her birth date was April 14, I'm pretty sure, she was 18 years old and Russian. The rest of that part of the dream is murky.
_________

Now I am in the woods, and I have herb seeds with me that I intend to plant. My mother, father and sisters are there, I think. It is dark. I try to go alone while everyone sleeps on the ground next to some wall. It's foggy. There's a lake or river, and two thick pipes cross it, going somewhere. One of the pipes is also acts like a bridge with rails on the side. I hesitate and go lie down to sleep. Can't sleep. I walk around looking at plants.

Seekers - Finders.

The content make plenty of sense this time.

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find."

I had faith, but did not expect to find what I was looking for. And here I am standing next to a bonfire, somewhere deep in the woods, with a key to unlock the ultimate knowledge in my left hand. "Well, here we go again" I thought, and opened the door once again.

It is around 11:00 pm. I park my car across Andray's apartment, but do not go in. Instead, I go for a walk to test out my luck. I have a goal and know exactly what I am looking for: a special key.

Soon after, as I walk down the sidewalk, I spot a potential target. A young gentleman in his early twenties walks slowly ahead. As soon as I approach him, without hesitation I state my need and ask if he could point me in the right direction. He hesitates, and clearly lets me know that he has a connection but is suspicious of me, for obvious reasons. For those unaware of this, the use of the key is forbidden. Anyone caught using it is in deep trouble.

I let him know that I understand, and thank him anyway. A bit disappointed, but not discouraged, I go to get Andray.

Driving back to my house, we decide that we should give it another try. We turn back, park the car at his apartments and go for a walk, together this time.

The air is humid and it gets foggy quickly. We walk around hoping to find anyone with a hint. Nope, not a single soul. Now we are starting to lose our hope, so we start walking back towards the car. And what do you know, the same gentleman I met earlier walks towards and past us, as we exchange the "what's-ups." I ask him one last time if he could help us out, thinking maybe he changed his mind. And I am surprised to find that he did. The man actually is a key holder. I check it out to confirm legitimacy, we make a deal, and he offers me his contact number which I gladly write down. We shake hands and part our ways.

Now it is around 1:00 am. Me and Andray go back to my house, grab what we need and go in the woods, ready for our journey that is about to take on the other side of the door.

The rest is not important.

Bus, Alligator clip, Girl

The content doesn't make sense, like usual.

The bus driver is crazy. Almost flipped the bus a bunch of times. The trip is over. There was some girl that I was with, not sure who. Soon after going our separate ways, I am talking on the phone to a girl, about the sunrise. Or was it sunset? I forgot to return something to her that was hers. It was an alligator clip, I'm pretty sure it was. Why an alligator clip?

Then I am around her house again. Some little boy asks me if I have what belonged to the girl. I deny, holding it in my left hand. I think I just wanted to return it to her myself.

The rest is murky.

Underground, Rave, Church.

The content doesn't make sense, like usual.

There is some forbidden door. There is myself, and two more people. I think it's my older sister and someone who I know. We walk through the door, and it leads down long stairs.

When we get to the bottom, we enter what seems to be a large underground sewage system, just without all the smell and crap everywhere. Very clean, stone or cement walls. We hear techno music coming from somewhere. Possibly an underground rave going on somewhere. We can't quite point out where it's coming from.

We can go either left or right. We decide to go right. A hundred or so feet later the path splits again: left or right. On the right, there is a very wide set of stairs going up. We go right. Once at the top, we hear people talking somewhere on the left, we follow the voices.

When we reach the source, we observe some ceremony going on. It appears to be religious. Perhaps a church gathering.

From here, something strange starts happening. Don't remember what.

The rest of the dream is lost.
