The Ultimate Battle of One with Oneself

Status: No clue.

We're in a constant battle with ourselves every day due to the very nature of our body's half-independent design. One hand does not necessarily know what the other one does. We have two brain halves, and each of the brain halves receives and sends the signals independently. A man can survive with only one brain half. The right side: visual, artistic, random processing. The left side: lingual, logical, sequential processing.

The ecological human interface design of our heads up display may need to be designed to send appropriate data to the appropriate brain side. So, the left eye data may have to include artistic and visual info (to be extracted by right brain), while the right eye data will only carry data for logical info extraction.

The center processor then simply takes these two inputs and puts two and two together and makes decisions, which are sent from the main processor to each of the half to execute via muscle movements and physical actions.

From personal experience, the sequence of the development of my old 4WD robot project (see the projects page) followed a specific path. It was a logical path that took into account many visual and artistic approaches, which produced a clear picture of what the end product will be like from multiple perspectives. This enables us to make the best possible decision based on the experience acquired by each of the half of the brain. This is why it's pretty much useless providing artistic information to the left brain, if one wants to look for artistic approaches to the data observed by the right eye. Sending the same image data to the left eye, however, will produce the desired artistic/random calculations.

Every decision is made keeping in mind that Logic and Emotion account for Rational and Irrational decisions we make every day. You can say that one is in a constant battle with oneself. Split personalities often form in certain situations.

The important outcome of this finding is that efficiency can be improved dramatically if one is to properly use their brain halves. However, this is not the only reason why rational decisions often lead to predictable outcomes. The reason is that somewhere in the front section of my brain there's a section that is responsible for future prediction and extrapolation. Both front halves probably have this function, which look at my potential future from a logical and an emotional perspective. And this right-left brain battle is precisely the root cause of why it is often hard for us to make decisions.

Freaky

It's that same dream again!

For quite a while now Earth turned into a world overfilled with hate and wars, so some have decided to live with peace, build themselves small nuclear spaceships and off they went, into the heavens.

But,

For an unknown reason I'm still on Earth, running away with a group of people being led by another smaller group of people. They appear to be helping us out - some appear to be soldiers or outlaws and there's one older woman who seems to be a scientist.

The dream cuts in while I am in a theater I think, somewhere in a space port or something.

We run and we end up in some sort of chambers. The chambers transfer us to some sort of a space craft via some kind of tubes. When we exit these tubes, we are told to grab some weapons. There are four or five different strange hand-held weapons. There's a familiar modified ak-47-like one, and a few odd-looking ones. There's some pen-like weapon with unfolding handle that appears to be an electromagnetic gun of some-sort, probably a high-power short-pulse laser. We run somewhere next.

We pass out, possibly in preparation for a cryogenic sleep.

I don't remember what happened last time, but this time we arrive to some strange planet (K-B22?) where it appears that a human base was established a century or so ago, judging by the rust and the aged structures. There are rooms, and buildings, with overhead bridges between buildings. Flash backs keep happening and I remember some guy from either a previous dream, or something else, who went completely bananas and killed a person (or more than one person). There are dinosaur-like creatures that run around the base premises as well as inside the buildings. They are everywhere and the smaller ones are attacking us.

A whole lot more happened, but the memories appear as brief detail-less patches. It's hard to make much sense of why I'm having this wild and ultra-realistic dream multiple times. It almost feels like some plot from a video game or a movie (the closest resemblance is the combination of the 2009 movie "Pandorum" with "Terra Nova" and "Outcasts" TV series?).

Unknown origin.

The specific configuration/image of her brain's neural network was highly attractive. It was interesting to sit there and learn that not everyone in this world is boring as hell. This woman was extraordinary without doubt, but how does one even begin to define what extraordinary really is for them personally?

Shortly after her departure from the palace, flashbacks started occurring and curiosity rapidly rising. How did she acquire all that knowledge, and how much of it is actually accessible and interpretable and translatable into words? How much of the content is actually physically deliverable to me from her through the air molecule vibrations via her vocal cords, and deliverable information is actually understandable by me? How much of the understandable is saveable by my brain, and how much of the saveable is accessible by me and for how long? How much of the retrievable is then re-interpretable by me, and how much of the re-interpretable is re-communicable by my own mouth? How much of the re-communicable is properly interpretable back to her original message, and how much of the interpretable is actually recognizable by her to be the original message? Once confirmed by her that the data have indeed successfully reached the destination (me, you, them), how does she decide what actions to perform next?

Too many questions are left unanswered. The answers are very likely to be simple, but are yet unknown.

Not So Fast

It's easier to forget than it is to remember.
What was a dream no longer resembled anything like that innocent fantasy of mine.
It burned down so quickly and so violently.
Why did we try to make beautiful things out of the leftover ashes?
Who builds a house just so they can destroy it?
I'll never understand.

Non-Religious

A man was born -- son of nature, son of universe. A regular human being. This human being was able to understand the meaning of life. He understood what living was all about, that everything and everyone in peace with each other would work out a lot better for everyone. Christians call him "Jesus". But to us, it is irrelevant what his name was. Jesus was a philosopher, doctor, scientist. People thought that he understood philosophy of life a lot more than anyone else. He was followed by thousands -- he was worshiped. Back then, the only explanation for this phenomena was an ancient scripture that prophesied a birth of man who would save the world. A man who would bring peace and salvation to all humanity. Jesus was then labeled to be "son of the God." He claimed to be son of the universe, who has been given a vision. Jesus tried to educate everyone about his logical philosophical views. But he was rejected when religious churches and cults started to tell everyone not to listen to him. People listened to the priests somehow, perhaps because it was more socially accepted to trust priests, and thus he was killed. He was a very smart man, with extraordinary powers. With his logic he was able to control his "spirit", which is analogous to software (vs hardware). He moved his soul to the next one by simply teaching his only main student of his ways. When Jesus died, his student took over and continued his master's teachings.

Lucid Dreaming or Unclear Waking?

As many have probably realized this already, "Lucid Dreaming" is now a term with it's own popular acronym, "LD." Lucid dreaming is not quite what some people think it is. As many of us have already found out, LD-ing is simply taking control of your dreams. This may or may not mean that eventually, as LD becomes accepted by the scientific community, the practice will be used for simply living twice as long. That's right, twice as long. Just kidding. Twice as long is not good enough. Well then, how about... forever. It is theoretically possible to live forever.

Relatively speaking, you can simply slow down time by exponentially decreasing the relative speed of time inside your dream. Thus, extending your life very close to forever.

How would we, engineers and scientists, would describe this to ourselves. How about we start at the fact that a human being is able to accelerate or slow down time, correct? Sometimes days last too long, nights too short? Some unforgettable moments seem to whither away in a blink of an eye, and disappear forever?

A dream is a mind trick. A mind trick that works solely to allow the body and mind to rest. It creates a random sequence of short life events (mini-dreams) that come and go, and sometimes seem to be so incomplete -- so lacking of something. Dreams are not isolated from our world. Dreams affect all of our daily life. We remember events that happen in dreams, and they affect our choices made in life, even if it done on a subconscious level.

Taking control of dreams means that you no longer are powerless and weak against the supreme force that seems to throw you around inside your own mind like a toy. It does what it wants -- it talks and you have no choice but to hear it all. A lucid dream is a method of breaking free of that force. A fully-controlled lucid dream has endless possibilities. A lucid dream, for example, can be used to improve yourself at various skills you are not capable learning in the wake life. It may eventually be overused, but it is a possibility that we may one day, with the aid of evolution, be able to "hack" our own central neural system. Why? In order to use it to extend our lives. An entire life can be lived inside your dream, totally private to you, and almost no one else from your wake life can be a part of it. Almost no one.

Evolution or just a hidden ability, it doesn't matter what you label it as. It is what it is, and it is very peculiar. Very worthy of being locked down in the insane asylum.

Go try it if you haven't. Google "lucid dreaming", or search Wikipedia for techniques of entering an LD. Most importantly, have fun!

Good luck.
